Aria was established in Nagoya, Japan in 1956 by Shiro Arai. As an accomplished Classical guitarist Shiro had difficulty obtaining gut strings for his guitar and started to import nylon strings made by Augustine in New York. Word quickly spread among fellow players and students and a business of musical instrument manufacturing and supply was born. Aria is now established as one of the premium fretted instrument manufacturers and is distributed in every country around the world. Guitars, amplifiers and accessories are now manufactured in Japan, Korea, Spain, Indonesia and China.

Originally founded in Bournemouth, and subsequently based in London for nearly 100 years, B&M are now located in Oswestry close to the English / Welsh border in beautiful, rural Shropshire. From their 40,000sqft sales, marketing and warehousing facility, B&M's owner and managing director Brian Cleary oversees the daily despatch of thousands of musical instruments and accessories to music stores, wholesalers and distributors across the globe.
